Water under the Bridge

Water under the Bridge

I went for a walk the other day trying to find good light… You’d think it being easier since it was the middle of the day…

Photographing from 10am to 4pm here in Colorado is hard. We get close to a solid 300 days of beautiful sunshine… which is sweet for most adventures… but hard to really capture on camera due to the contrast. My mission for this photographic adventure was to find the good light in the middle of a spring day…

This ruled out landscape shots of the mountains and hills around town… the light was harsh on the streets as well so no candid portraits… I decided it was a macro day… Seeking the soft light I ventured up close and underneath… by the creek, under bridges and in the dark places of mid-day…

The photo above gave me a nice challenge. I was trying to photograph a water feature on a creek with little success, when I thought about getting closer and lower… getting close and low enough to photograph it from the inside-out…

and eureka… there it was…

Here are some photos from underneath and up-close:

More on the Kashmir Analogs in the next few days… Until then I will be enjoying the spring sunshine.
